Why do I need these keys?

To keep our prices super low for everyone, we use a "Bring Your Own Key" system. It's like bringing your own ingredients to a cooking class—you get to make something amazing without paying for the expensive kitchen overheads!

Important Requirements

To get these keys, you will need:

A Google Account (Gmail).
To set up a Billing Account with a credit card (Google requires this to verify you are human, even for the free tier).

Wait, what is an API Key?

Think of an API Key like a special digital VIP ticket. It tells Google's computers that it's you asking for the map or the brain power, not us. Because you're asking directly, you get to use their very generous free allowances for yourself!

Go to Google AI Studio
Visit aistudio.google.com
Click "Create API Key"
Click the big blue button. If asked, choose "Create API key in new project".

2The Map Key Optional

Google Maps (We provide a free quota!)

1. Go to Google Cloud Console
Visit console.cloud.google.com
Create a new project (e.g., "LifeGlyph Maps").
2. ENABLE THE API (Crucial!)
The key won't work unless you turn on the service.
1. Go to "APIs & Services" > "Library"
2. Search for "Maps JavaScript API"
3. Click Enable

3. Get your Key
Go to "Credentials" → "Create Credentials" → "API Key". Copy it and paste it into LifeGlyph's settings!

You have the keys! Now what?

Take those two magic codes and paste them into the Settings menu in the app. That's it! You're ready to capture infinite memories.

(Once you're back, click the settings cog in the menu to paste your keys!)

Don't want to get a key?

That's totally fine! You can still use the app for free. You'll just be limited to 20 AI-enhanced memories per month. You can still manually add as many memories as you like without AI assistance!
